Applications
Sought for Homeless Grant Program
OLYMPIA
-- Non-profit organizations
that serve homeless or formerly homeless households are invited to apply for a
special grant program. The Thurston County HOME Consortium anticipates
awarding up to $200,000 from the Homeless Housing Program (RCW 36.22.179) for
operations and maintenance (O&M) support to organizations struggling to
maintain current level services. Funding is NOT intended to support program
enhancements, such as paying for new staffing or personnel positions.
Funding
priority will be given to applicants that meet the following conditions:

Demonstration
of critical need for the funds
·
Maintenance of
essential core services and program capacity
·
Method of
sustaining operating revenues beyond this grant
Applications will
be scored on a competitive and comparative basis with other applications, and
rated using a point scale of a maximum of 90 points. Applications will be
evaluated based on the following criteria:

PROJECT NEED:
How compelling is the project/program need? (30 points)
·
OPERATING AND
MAINTENANCE NEED: How critical are the funds needed to maintain current
level services? (30 points)
·
FINANCIAL and
ADMINISTRATIVE CAPACITY: How well does the organization leverage other O&M
funding sources? How effective is the organizational plan for meeting future
funding gaps? Does the organization have sufficient administrative capacity to
effectively manage the program/project (30 points)
The submission
deadline for proposals is 4:30 Monday, July 7, 2008. Applicants should submit
one original, four copies, and an electronic version of the application to:
