Auditor Wants Your Input About Elections
OLYMPIA – Thurston County Auditor, Kim Wyman,
will be out in the community for the next month looking for citizen input
regarding to Thurston County’s new voter tabulation system. The Federal Government passed the Help America Vote Act in
2003, which abolishes punch card voting, mandates a statewide voter
registration system and requires accessible voting devices in every polling
place. All new systems must be in
operation by 2006.
Auditor Wyman has recently upgraded the current
voter registration system to be able to migrate to the statewide database and
is now looking to the public for their input on a new vote tabulation system.
She will be doing a short presentation of the changes and what options
