Thurston County to Begin Annual Comprehensive Plan
Amendment Process

Olympia- The Thurston County Board of Commissioners is asking for public input on the 2002 Preliminary Docket of Comprehensive Plan Amendment Proposals.

Potential amendments listed on the docket include- allowing accessory dwelling units in the rural areas of the County, updating the Tumwater Parks and Recreation Plan for the city and the urban growth area, revising planned street connections in the northeast area of Olympia, planning for replacement of the Tamoshan Wastewater Facility, and rezoning five properties as requested by individual property owners.

The entire docket of proposals can be reviewed at the Thurston County Permit Assistance Center, Thurston County Courthouse Building 1, 2000 Lakeridge Drive SW, Olympia. Comments should be sent to that address by January 10, 2002. After the close of the comment period, the Board will finalize the docket, and amendment proposals will be forwarded to the Thurston County Planning Commission for review. Public hearings will be held on the amendments in spring and summer 2002.
