Application for Homeless Grant Assistance Funds
OLYMPIA
– The public on Monday is invited to find out more about an application for
funding through the State’s Homeless Grant Assistance Program (HGAP).
Catholic Community Services is seeking $1.2-million over three years
for the Drexel House program. The
HGAP monies are administered by the Washington Department of Community, Trade
and Economic Development (CTED).
Drexel House is a case managed, residential
program that serves certain homeless
disabled men and women.
The goal of the program is to assist the individuals in achieving
self-sufficiency and stable housing through connections with a variety of
community-based programs. Applicants for Drexel House are referred through a
number of agencies in
Thurston
County
including-
·
Behavioral Health Resources

Thurston County Chief Administrative Officer Don
Krupp says the presentation at Monday’s Board of County Commissioner’s
meeting is not a public hearing. “This
is an opportunity for the Commissioners to hear about the application and to
determine how it may fit in with the qualifications of the Homeless Grant
Assistance Program and the overall plans of the county and other jurisdictions
and agencies to end homelessness in this area.
The commissioners then have the option of approving the application and
sending it on to CTED for possible final approval.”
The Board of Thurston County Commissioners meets
at 9 AM Monday in Room 280 of Building One of the Thurston County Courthouse.
