County Seeks Large, Downed Trees
Citizens with large, downed trees (roots attached) on their property may
consider
donating them to the Thurston County Road Department for a river bank
restoration project.
The county needs Douglas fir or Western red cedar only. Trees must be a
minimum of 24 inches in
diameter, at least 20 feet in length with a root wad measuring four to five
feet. The site must have easy
access for a low-boy tractor/trailer and loading equipment.
In return for the donation of qualified trees, the county will remove the
tree and limbs and fill in the root
hole. Due to volume of work, selected trees will be picked up over the next
six to eight weeks, schedule
permitting.
Contact Environmental Coordinator Jeanne Kinney at 754-3355, ext. 7845
or
Operations Engineer Mike Clark at 709-3016 or at clarkmc@co.thurston.wa.us
If emailing, please write "large tree donation" in the subject
line.
