County Anticipates Work Ahead on Critical Areas
Ordinance
OLYMPIA
—
Thurston
County
has received hundreds of written and oral comments on the draft Critical Areas
Ordinance. The comment period
ended September 30th. The
county is appreciative of those members of the public who took the time and
effort to review the draft ordinance and provide comments, according to
Planning Manager John Sonnen. “Each
comment will be reviewed and taken seriously by the Thurston County Planning
Commission.”
The
next step is for the Thurston County Planning Commission to review the
comments and determine what changes will be made to the next draft of the
Critical Areas Ordinance. The
timeline for the next draft is unclear at this point but may take months to do
an adequate job of reviewing all the comments and to make the necessary
revisions.
