Flu Mist
Vaccination Clinics to be Held
OLYMPIA
– Thurston County Public
Health and Social Services will be hosting two more flu immunization clinics
featuring flu mist instead of shots. Immunization
Program Coordinator Michelle Barthule says these clinics are aimed at kids
ages 2 through 18 years of age. “The
flu mist may be just the thing for children who are afraid of needles.
This is a gentle mist that is sprayed into the nose.
It still helps provide immunization from the flu but without the shot
that we usually think of when we talk about flu vaccine.”
There
is a limited supply of flu mist and the doses are provided on a “first come,
first served” basis. There is
not cost for the vaccine.
The
flu mist clinics will be held on-
·
Wednesday,
December 12th from 9AM to 3 PM
·
Wednesday,
December 19th from 9 AM to 2 PM.
Both
clinics will be held at the Thurston County Public Health Department at
412 Lilly Road NE
in Olympia.
