Garden Rhapsodies Tour Set
This year’s Garden Rhapsodies Tour will be held
July 29 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. The Garden Rhapsodies Tour features
gardens using integrated pest management, wise watering techniques, with
Master Gardeners on hand to answer all of your gardening questions.
Gardens range from an entirely native landscape to a Japanese-style
garden, with an expansive oasis right off of the freeway.
A free shuttle bus is available to help alleviate
any parking concerns that might happen when 600 of your friends, family, and
neighbors get together for this great community event!
Less time searching for parking means more time enjoying the gardens!
Six gardens open their private sanctuaries for one day only for this
special tour. You will be
surprised and delighted by the wonders that lie behind unassuming garden
gates! The tour provides an
opportunity to pick up tips from experienced gardeners and get simple or
elaborate ideas for your own design or re-working of that difficult garden
area. Demonstrations in the
gardens include: how-tos for successful composting, how to make worms do the
work for you, edible flowers, and growing organic grapes in
Thurston
County
.
Musicians and artists in the gardens truly make
this an event with something for everyone.
Tickets are on sale now, at the Olympia Farmers
Market Master Gardener Booth, local nurseries, and Olympia Federal Savings
branches. Tickets will also be on
sale the day of the tour in the gardens and at the shuttle location at
2121 Log Cabin Rd.
Tickets are $15 per person and
kids under 16 are free. Contact
