Grant Money Available
for Active Communities Projects
Olympia-
Continuing efforts to encourage healthy lifestyles, the Thurston County Public
Health & Social Services Department is making grant funding available for
neighborhood-based projects that support walking and bicycling.
A total of $50,000 is being provided to support collaborative projects
that will create more active-friendly residential areas within
Thurston
County
.
Grants
of up to $5,000 will be awarded to eligible organizations that propose ways
to:

Create neighborhood-based walking or bicycle clubs that
offer physical activity programs to area residents.
·
Add features or enhancements to neighborhoods that
improve the ability of area residents to live a more active lifestyle.
Grant
funds are available through the Steps to a Healthier WA in
Thurston
County
program, administered by the Thurston County Public Health & Social
Services Department in partnership with the Washington State Department of
Health. Funding will be awarded
through a competitive process. Interested
parties must follow application guidelines to apply.
