Help Stream
Team monitor water quality
OLYMPIA
– Are you looking for a
great way to volunteer and possibly get your feet wet?
Stream Team is looking for volunteers to help monitor local streams for
macroinvertebrates (stream bugs). Stream
bugs provide valuable information regarding water quality and they are fun to
collect and examine.
Volunteers
are invited to attend a training session on Thursday, June 28 or Wednesday,
July 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The sessions will be held in the A/B room on
the second floor of the Thurston County Roads and
Transportation
Building
,
2404 Heritage Court
in
Olympia
.
The training will cover the rationale for biological monitoring, the
sampling protocol, and local data. Trained
volunteers will then sign up for one or more summer monitoring days.
Registration is required. Please
call Ann Marie Finan at 754-3355, ext. 6857.
