OLYMPIA -- The Hispanic/Latino community is developing quickly around the country.  Between 1990 and 2000 the Latino/Hispanic population increased 105.8% in Washington State.  It now represents the largest growing ethnic community in Washington. (2000 Census)  With that in mind, La Mesa Redonda (The Hispanic Roundtable) will be hosting the 2003 Latino Youth Summit: Abriendo Puertas y Ventanas. This event takes place on November 7, 2003 at the Shelton Civic Center, 525 W. Cota, Shelton ~ from 1:00 – 9:00 p.m.  The theme of the conference is Abriendo Puertas y Ventanas/Opening Doors and Windows (of opportunity).  The conference is targeting Hispanic/Latino youth 14 to 19 years of age living within Thurston, Lewis and Mason Counties.
