Commissioners
Seek Applicants For Library Board
OLYMPIA
– Thurston County Commissioners are seeking someone to serve on the
board of directors for the Timberland Regional Library.
Thurston County resident Carolyn
Dobbs has advised county commissioners that she must forgo her appointment
to the library board because of a serious family health development. Dobbs, a member of the faculty at The Evergreen State
College, was appointed on February 3rd as one of two Thurston
County representatives on the board of the five-county regional library
system. Dobbs told county
commissioner Bob Macleod on Monday that she made the difficult decision
over this past weekend.
Macleod says, “My first
concern is for the well being of Carolyn and her family.
Beyond that concern, I am saddened that Thurston County has lost a
very able representative to the Timberland Board.”
Macleod says the Board of Thurston County Commissioners will rely
on a newly refined system of advertising for Timberland Board openings and
the interview of candidates for the filling of the library system
position.
Those
interested in finding out more about the application process can contact
the clerk of the Board of County Commissioners, LaBonita Bowmar at
360-786-5440.
