OLYMPIA
-- The Thurston County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on

County Courthouse Complex,
2000 Lakeridge Dr. SW
,

The
hearing is to accept public comment on a renewal of Interim Ordinance No.
13030, affecting mineral extraction and asphalt production activities. If
renewed, the interim ordinance would prohibit the issuance of special use
permits for new or expanded mineral extraction activities outside designated
mineral lands of long-term commercial significance.
It would also prohibit designation of new mineral lands of long-term
commercial significance and, in most cases, prohibit the issuance of special
use permits for asphalt production.
The renewal period is proposed to be six months,
pursuant to RCW 36.70A.390. The Interim Ordinance and other applicable
