Jennifer and Robert Myrick will speak about their
experience opening their home and hearts to four adoptive children whom they
are raising with their birth son. Jennifer
Myrick is also a founder and Co-Chair of Capitol Kids Connection, a non-profit
organization that helps support children in foster care.
Each year 100 adoptions are completed in
Thurston
County
– stepparents, domestic partners, individuals and couples choosing to be
life-long parents. These families make a real difference in the lives of
children and the community as a whole. National Adoption Day is an excellent
way to honor, support and promote adoption in our community.
An adoption ceremony will take place at 4:00 pm.
Refreshments and socializing begins at 4:30 pm with activities to include
Booker T. Bear and craft projects from the Hands on Children’s Museum.
The event is sponsored by Thurston County Superior
Court’s Family and
Juvenile Court
,
Washington
State Department of Social and Health Services and the Thurston County Bar
Association.
