Public Hearing set on Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Grant Program

OLYMPIA -- A public hearing has been set for mid-March regarding a reapplication by Thurston County for a federal grant for programs aimed at fighting domestic violence and sexual assault.

Thurston County has been a recipient of the STOP Violence Against Women Formula Grant Program for the past several years.   These funds are used to provide training for law enforcement personnel and prosecutors in the county to ensure consistent current knowledge regarding domestic violence and sexual assault mitigation and prosecution techniques.  The resources have also been used to support a coordinated community response to such issues. 

The public is invited to attend the hearing.
