Thurston County Veterans’ Assistance Fund Program Moves to New Location

OLYMPIA -- The Thurston County Veterans’ Assistance Fund has become a program of the Thurston County Public Health and Social Services Department and is moving to the Public Health building effective June 8, 2009.  The address is 412 Lilly Rd. NE , Olympia , WA 98506-5132 .  The telephone number remains the same and is 360-786-5578.

The Veterans’ Assistance Fund assists eligible veterans and family members with rent and mortgages, utilities, food, public transportation and burial expenses.  Those eligible for the program include honorably discharged veterans who have completed their initial obligation to the military, who have resided in Washington State for at least six months preceding application, and lived in Thurston County for at least 31 days preceding application, and who meet the program income guidelines.

To obtain information regarding the program and to schedule an appointment to complete an application for assistance, please contact the Veterans’ Assistance Fund at 360-786-5578.  Applications for assistance will be accepted Tuesday and Thursday mornings 9 a.m. to noon at the Thurston County Public Health and Social Services Department.
