Systems and Facilities – Proposition No. 1 Sales and Use
Tax

The Board of County Commissioners of
Thurston County adopted Resolution No. 12799 concerning
a proposition to increase the sales and use tax. The proposition
would increase the sales and use tax within Thurston County
by one-tenth of one percent for the purpose of providing
funds for the costs associated with financing, design, acquisition,
construction, equipping, operating, maintaining, remodeling,
repairing, re-equipping, and improvement of emergency communication
systems and facilities.

The Intercity Transit Authority adopted
Resolution No. 05-2002 concerning a proposition to increase
the sales and use tax. The proposition would increase the
sales and use tax within the public transportation benefit
area by three-tenths of one percent for the purpose of providing
funds for the operation, maintenance or capital needs of
the public transportation system:

The Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire
Protection District No. 3 adopted Resolution No. 715-08-02
concerning a proposition to levy property taxes. The proposition
would authorize the District to levy property taxes in excess
of all regular property tax levies at the approximate rate
of 30 cents per one thousand dollars of assessed value upon
all taxable property within the District for collection
in 2003 to provide a total of $600,000 for purposes of operation
and maintenance for the District’s Expense Fund:

The Board of Fire Commissioners of Thurston
County Fire District No. 9 adopted Resolution No. 02-316,
concerning a proposition to increase the regular property
tax rate. This proposition would authorize the District
to increase its regular property tax levy rate to $1.50
per one thousand dollars of assessed value to be levied
in 2002 and collected in 2003.
