Recount Information

Mandatory Recounts

One-half of one percent must separate candidates and statewide measures before a mandatory recount applies.  County or district issues do not qualify for recounts.

Hand Recount

If less than one-quarter of one percent and less than 150 votes difference separates candidates (RCW 29.64.015 & .080).

Requested Recount

Requested recounts must be submitted no later than three working days after the official canvass of election results (RCW 29.64.010).
