Quick Title Q & A
  Q - What is a Quick Title?
The new Quick Title service allows you to walk in to the Thurston County Auditor’s Office and walk out the same day with your vehicle or vessel title. With regular title service, it normally takes 6-8 weeks for you to receive a title in the mail.
Q - How much is Quick Title service?
A Quick Title costs $50 in addition to the title fee, registration fee, and taxes.
Q - Who can use Quick Title service?
Quick Titles are offered to anyone wanting same-day title service.  This service is very helpful for customers who have lost their title and are selling their vehicle. Quick Title service is also helpful for military personnel and their families who need the title to their vehicle or vessel before they are deployed or move to a new post.
Quick Titles are not available for the following:
  • snowmobiles
  • vehicles or boats reported as lost or stolen
  • insurance or wrecker destroyed vehicles or boats
  • vehicles with a "WA rebuilt" brand on the title
Q - Do I need a special form or application for a Quick Title?
No special forms are required to process a Quick Title, but Quick Title service is available only in person at the Thurston County Auditor’s Office. Quick Title service is not available online.
Q - What documents do I need for a Quick Title transaction?
Each title transaction is unique, and the paperwork for each transaction varies.
Some of the required documents include:
  • an unexpired Washington drivers license
  • bill of sale or gift letter
  • odometer disclosure if the vehicle is 10 years old or newer
  • one of the three following documents:
    • certificate of title signed off by the lien holder;  -OR-
    • manufacturer’s statement of origin; -OR-
    • affidavit of loss
