Legislative District Offices
There are 49 legislative districts in the State of Washington. Each legislative district has one senate position and two representative positions. The districts are drawn so that they are approximately equal in population.
The State Legislature is directly involved in all aspects of state government and in many aspects of county and city governments. It is the governmental body that writes the laws of our state, develops a state budget, and has oversight of state agencies.
Please Note:
In Thurston County, candidates for Senate are running in Legislative Districts No. 2, 20, and 22, and candidates for the House of Representatives are running in Legislative Districts No. 2, 20, 22, and 35. |

It has been an incredible honor to represent our community in the Legislature. You asked me to elevate the importance of tax reform to help small businesses and
low-and middle-income families and now the Legislature is setting about the task of reforming our tax code to generate an additional $1 billion per year for our schools, in a way that is more stable and fair. You asked me to fight for workers’ rights and I prime sponsored, and passed, the strongest worker safety bill in the nation. You asked me to fight for schools. After a grueling battle, we finally passed a budget with no additional cuts to basic education or higher education. I also worked to protect The Basic Health Plan, disability funding, and environmental protection.
So much hard work remains! With your help, I will keep representing our shared values.
Thank you for your trust. |
