Please Note:
In Thurston County, candidates for Senate are running in Legislative Districts No. 2, 20, and 22, and candidates for the House of Representatives are running in Legislative Districts No. 2, 20, 22, and 35.

Randi Becker

Randi Becker’s not a career politician. Before being elected for the first time in 2008, Randi had a full career in real estate and medical administration.

Randi has worked hard her whole life. She knows jobs aren’t easy to find. As a Senator, she is trying to make it easier for private businesses to hire and expand, clearing away regulations that hinder growth while improving infrastructure and education.

Randi has proven she can get results. She’s made improvements to our higher education system and has taken a stand against red light cameras. Randi is an avid fisher and hunter and a member of the NRA. She and her husband, Bob, live on a small farm near Eatonville.

“Four years from now, I would like to say – I made it a little easier for people to get jobs and a little easier for people to get a good, career-building education.”

As a businessman, farmer, and former Army Major I feel the impact of government on a daily basis. I started a company to help veterans with employment and I am willing to help individuals in need. However, I am tired of going to work each day and pay taxes for individuals to sit at home and abuse the welfare system.

As an Army Officer, I worked with the Pentagon and Congress to prioritize all the Army programs ($300 billion) and determine which programs to fund during a period of significant downsizing. I know how to cut out the waste; keep critical services and prevent tax increases.

To me the liberals use the term “Politically Correct” to force us to buy something we don’t want and to pay for it by increasing our taxes. I am tired of Olympia viewing taxpayers as an unlimited ATM Machine for their wasteful spending.

During the 1980’s, as a young Marine Corps Captain, I realized that the only possible solution to any problem was to move forward. Today, bickering and political paralysis plague needed policy decisions. This has to change.

Since my tenure in the military I have been involved in public decision-making and budgeting. As a County Planning Commissioner I learned to balance the interests of economic development with those seeking quality of life. As an elected school board member I advocated for more advanced curriculum by promoting Advanced Placement classes and highly capable studies. Today, as a college trustee, I oversee a multi-million dollar budget, seeking ways to train and educate students for the future. As a business owner I understand the relationship between hard work and success.

In the Marines there was one rule: Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the Way. It is time to remove the political paralysis.
