Thurston County Partisan Office - Auditor
Auditor - The auditor is the chief financial officer in respect to expenditures, auditing all expenditures, accounts payable, and payroll. Other financial duties include conducting internal fiscal and performance audits, and preparing annual financial reports. As the chief elections officer, the auditor is responsible for conducting all elections, registering all voters, and providing voter information, including the local voters’ pamphlets. The auditor’s duties as the licensing agent include issuing vehicle, vessel, marriage, business, and animal licenses. The auditor also contracts with eight private businesses throughout the county for vehicle and vessel licensing. Finally, the auditor is the county recorder, maintaining a record of all real estate contracts, deeds, mortgages, surveys, liens, and other documents from 1852 to the present.
  All voters in the county will vote on this position.

Hi, I am Thurston County Auditor Gary Alexander. Since becoming auditor, I streamlined the office to increase performance and save money. My goals include reducing wait lines to enhance customer service; installing new technology to ensure accurate, timely election results; and obtaining a seventh consecutive national award for excellence in financial reporting.

With 12 years as Deputy Auditor and 30 years as administrative manager in state government and private industry, I have extensive knowledge and experience in elections, licensing, recording, auditing, and finance. All are required to lead this important office.

I previously served as Olympia Port Commissioner and State Representative and am endorsed by both democrats and republicans, including our two former and popular auditors, Kim Wyman and Sam Reed. I will dedicate my full time efforts to make your county auditor’s office the most efficient and respected in the state. “Vote local”, keep Thurston County Auditor Gary Alexander.

Mary Hall is an accomplished and experienced elections administrator and will be your full time Auditor.

Mary Hall is a state and nationally certified elections administrator qualified to run the Auditor’s office effectively and efficiently. As Elections Supervisor for Washington’s second largest county, Mary has successfully conducted over 80 elections during her 16 year career. Her award-winning team has improved access to voting for military and overseas voters. Mary can be trusted to ensure all elections are honest, unbiased, and transparent.

Prior to her career in the Auditor’s office Mary was President of a document management software company. Mary will bring strong private and public sector management experience, leadership, and technical expertise to the Auditor’s office. She will provide excellent financial reporting, records management, and licensing services.
