Griffin School District No. 324 - School Board Director, Position No. 5

School Districts - Thurston County is divided into nine separate school districts, each governed by a five-member board. The board’s responsibilities include: budget, policy development, curriculum approval, planning, and communications. School board directors delegate authority for day-to-day functions to professional staff; however, they may never delegate ultimate responsibility. Board members are elected in a nonpartisan general election by voters within that school district. They receive no salary. A board may approve a per diem compensation for its members for attending board meetings. In most districts, candidates must reside in the subdistrict for which they are seeking office. All candidates are elected by the voters of the entire school district.

All school district positions are nonpartisan.

Only voters residing within the Griffin School District will vote on this position.
Statements are written by the candidates, who are solely responsible for the contents therein.

Patty Gregory

I am very passionate about the education and support of children. Over the past fifteen years, I have progressively gained career and volunteer experience in this area, including direct service work in the field of early learning, administrative and management of numerous family support and education programs, participation in community task forces and work groups that support children and their families as well as many other leadership roles in Thurston County.

For the past four years, I have served as a member of the Griffin School Board working alongside staff, leadership, community members, and fellow board directors to ensure that the children in our community have the resources and opportunities needed to grow to their greatest potential. I am very proud of our district, its staff, and the students who learn here and I’m grateful for this opportunity to continue in this role.

  Sincerely,
Patty Gregory
