Tanglewilde Parks and Recreation District No. 1 - Commissioner, Position No. 2

Parks and Recreation Districts - State law allows for the formation of parks and recreation districts as municipal corporations for the purpose of providing recreational activities of a non-profit nature as a public service to the residents of the geographical areas included within district boundaries. Parks district commissions consist of a five-member nonpartisan board elected within the jurisdiction to serve staggered four-year terms. These districts may acquire properties, make contracts, establish fees, make rules governing park properties, and manage and operate facilities according to RCW 36.69.130. They may also impose property taxes, establish local improvement districts, and issue revenue bonds, subject to the restrictions contained in RCW chapter 36.69.

All parks and recreation positions are nonpartisan.

Only voters residing within the Tanglewilde Parks and Recreation District will vote on this position.
Statements are written by the candidates, who are solely responsible for the contents therein.

Mary Anne Harrington

Hello, Neighbors. My name is Mary Anne Harrington. I live at 501 Wildcat St SE in Tanglewilde. I would like to serve on our Board for the Tanglewilde Parks and Recreation.

My reasons are: We live in a beautiful area. I know there are financial difficulties. We can solve those together.

I am a retired State employee and also a retired Teacher. I have many skills in management, and also in grant applications. All of my grants have been fully funded. I have no experience in parks management, but I have friends who do, at the Federal, State, County, and Local Cities, so I will tap into their experience.

I would love to hear the laughter and the joy of all people playing at the Park and enjoying the pool. If you have any questions, please call me at 456-3758. Thank you very much.
