MOVED TO APPROVE AND EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 4 TO CONTRACT NO. C07728, 1999 CONSOLIDATED CONTRACT BETWEEN THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND THURSTON COUNTY PUBLIC
HEALTH DEPARTMENT WHICH DECREASES FUNDS AVAILABLE TO THE COUNTY BY $12,500. Commissioner O'Sullivan SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED.
Pat Libbey explained that flooding is anticipated during the coming wet season. Some wells will likely be inundated with floodwater. This posses a potential risk of contamination. The Department requested to waive the fees for testing those wells covered by floodwaters. Commissioner Oberquell MOVED THE FEE FOR WATER SAMPLES BE WAIVED FOR WELLS COVERED BY FLOODWATERS DURING THE 1999-2000 WET SEASON. Commissioner O'Sullivan SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED.
It was requested that a public hearing be set to consider changes to Article I, Thurston County Sanitary Code - Environmental Health Fees. Commissioner Oberquell MOVED TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING FOR MONDAY, DECEMBER 6, 1999 AT 6:30 P.M. IN ROOM 280. Commissioner O'Sullivan SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED.
Chairman Wilson questioned Art Starry concerning septic system testing.
Dr. Diana Yu reported on discontinuing regular Public Health articles for The Olympian and being approached by KGY Radio for a possible weekly radio broadcast.
Dr. Yu provided an update on Hepatitis B outreach efforts.
Mr. Libbey provided information on a Cascade Pole meeting. The Board responded encouraging staff attendance at the meeting for the purpose of obtaining information and taking notes.
An Executive Session was held to discuss potential litigation.
The Board reconvened at 2:55 with no decision made at that point.
