Commissioner O’Sullivan MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. Commissioner Wilson SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED.

Contract Amendment with Washington State Department of Health - Ryan White Care Act Funds

Pat Libbey explained that the federal Ryan White CARE Act provides funding to local communities to pay for direct services to HIV infected people and their families. Funding is provided to Community Consortium Planning Groups and the Thurston County Health Department has been requested to act as the fiscal agent. The majority of funding is subcontracted to community agencies for local delivery of services. Commissioner O’Sullivan MOVED TO APPROVE AND EXECUTE AMENDMENT #2 TO CONTRACT #N08323 IN THE AMOUNT OF $103,407 WITH THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR PAYMENT OF COMMUNITY SERVICES TO HIV/AIDS INFECTED PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES AND AUTHORIZE THE DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR TO DEVELOP AND EXECUTE SUBCONTRACTS WITH COMMUNITY PROVIDERS. Commissioner Wilson SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED.

Director's Report

Art Starry provided an update on the Beagle’s septic system.

Mr. Starry reported on the results of the Henderson Inlet monitoring work. He also indicated written material on the Henderson Inlet and Nisqually Reach shellfish downgrade is in the process of being completed.

Pat Libbey acknowledged work done by staff, in the Department’s Fiscal Office, billing family planning client visits according to the DSHS TANF contract, thus extending resources to more clients.

Chairman Oberquell relayed information presented by the public at the Board of County Commissioner (BOCC) meeting earlier in the day on Cascade Pole. Chairman Oberquell asked Mr. Libbey to watch the BOCC meeting on television and be prepared to respond at the next BOCC meeting.

The Board asked for a timeline on the report to the Department of Ecology concerning the Cascade Pole site. Chairman Oberquell asked Mr. Libbey to attend the BOCC meeting on June 5th to report.
