I want to take this opportunity to personally welcome you to our web site.
We have attempted to create this site to help you understand the duties
of the County Clerk and to complete your court case.
The
Thurston County Clerk’s Office makes every effort to help you as a court user,
navigate the judicial process. Our
customer service staff offers problem identification and assistance; we have
provided a self-help center and learning opportunity for those of you who desire
to represent yourself in family law matters.
Our Family Court Facilitator will schedule appointments at a very low
cost to assist you with understanding your responsibilities in completing the mandatory
paperwork in family law matters.
The
Clerk’s Office sincerely seeks to provide improved services to you as users of
the judicial system. People care
very deeply about justice. Court
processes must reflect established court purposes such as individual justice in
individual cases, the appearance of individual justice in individual cases,
provision of a forum against the arbitrary use of governmental power, and the
making of a record of legal status. Regardless
of economic status, there must be equal access.
Everyone who comes to and before the court must be treated respectfully,
fairly and equally. Case processing
and the application of the law to the facts in individual cases must be
consistent and predictable.
Justice
requires courts whose ordinary everyday administration reflects the legacy of
the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, America’s compound
republic, and the public’s respect for and voluntary adherence to the law and
decisions in individual cases.
Rule
of law, equal protection, and due process have profound practical implications. These implications dictate that the ends of judicial
administration are not autonomy or even judicial independence, but rather
liberty, social order, rule of law, equal protection, and due process.
Understanding
and knowing court rules, statutory requirements, policies and procedures are
often difficult. It is my hope that
this website will be helpful to you in locating information which will provide
assistance to you. We are here to
serve you and to respond to your needs within the scope of our authority.
We welcome your comments.
