Remember that you may also be able to post your items on 2good2toss.com and other materials-exchange Web sites. Rules and restrictions vary by site.

Instead of using CDs, consider purchasing a "flash drive." Flash drives are portable, cylinder-shaped devices that are small enough to fit on a key chain, and plug into the USB port on your computer.

Best Buy accepts CDs and CD players for recycling. Take them to the customer service counter.

Best Buy stores across the country now accept almost all consumer electronics for free. (Fees apply for TVs, monitors, computers and laptops). For more information, visit Best Buy's recycling website. Visitors are limited to bringing in 2 units per day per household.
