Second Hand Safari Coming Up Again

Reserve a booth for sales or find that special treasure

The Thurston County Fairgrounds will be the location of another Second Hand Safari event in early October. If you have some items to sell, now is the time to reserve a space. Outdoor spaces and covered spaces for the October 6 event are available to anyone with gently used treasures to swap or sell. Call the Thurston County Fair Office at (360) 786-5453 to reserve your booth:

  • $25 for outdoor booth, approximately 10x10 feet
  • $40 for covered booth, approximately 10x10 feet

Set up for sellers will be on Friday, October 5 from noon to 10 p.m. The doors will be locked after set up Friday evening and security will be on-site until the event opens Saturday.

The Secondhand Safari will be held on Saturday, October 6 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Representatives from community groups, non-profits, businesses, agencies and individuals working on sustainability issues are invited to sign up for an educational booth or display. Contact the Fair Office at (360) 786-5453 for details.

There will be plenty of treasure seekers and bargain hunters, with over 3,000 visitors and 175 vendors in years past. Along with garage sale booths, the Secondhand Safari will also have educational booths, a free book and magazine exchange, entertainment, food, and more.

Representatives from Goodwill Industries will be on hand throughout the day to accept donations (at their discretion), giving sellers the chance to donate any of their unsold items at the end of the day.

For more information on the October 6 Secondhand Safari, or to reserve your booth, contact the Thurston County Fair Office at (360) 786-5453 or visit us on the Web.
