 Congratulations for Two Longtime Judges

Judges Tabor and Wickham retire

Superior Court Judge Chris Wickham recently retired after he made a decision not to seek another term when his current term expired last month. Wickham has a long history of service. He was first appointed as a court commissioner in 1991, and was subsequently elected to the bench in 2004.

At the time of his retirement, Wickham was assigned to the countyís Family and Juvenile Court, presiding over juvenile, domestic violence, divorce, and child welfare cases. He was a board member for the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, and was on the faculty of the Washington State Judicial College.

Superior Court Judge Gary Tabor has also retired. He was first elected in 1996 to a newly created position on the Thurston County Bench. Prior to that, Tabor had served as a Deputy Prosecuting attorney for the county for almost 19 years. Judge Tabor has served in many other capacities including two two-year terms as the Thurston County Superior Court's Presiding Judge. He taught Criminal Justice classes for Saint Martin's Military Extension Program for approximately 14 years. He was also the Thurston County DUI/Drug Court Judge from January of 2009 to April of 2011.

Thank you Judges Wickham and Tabor, for your many years of service to Thurston County!
