In the event or threat of an emergency that
could lead to activation of the County's Comprehensive Emergency Management
Plan, this site will contain public advisories and other relevant emergency
information. Information about the Federal Disaster Declaration Thurston County government is included in the
recent federal disaster declaration for the January 2012 winter storm.
Federal funding is available to state and eligible local governments
and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis
for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged
by the severe winter storm. This declaration does not include
assistance to individual homeowners and businesses, as the amount of
state- and community-wide private damages not covered by insurance did
not meet thresholds for a federal declaration.
More information is
available for private nonprofit organizations to help you determine
whether your organization may be eligible for assistance. News Releases
