the local emergency management activities of the county, cities and tribes.
Disaster Assistance
Council (DAC)
The Disaster Assistance Council brings together
humanitarian service organizations, other community organizations,
and private and governmental agencies to establish policies and procedures,
and organize disaster assistance.
Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC)
The Local Emergency Planning Committee coordinates hazardous
materials issues and carries out the mandate of the Emergency Planning Community
Right-to-Know Act of 1986 (EPCRA).
Thurston County Animal Response Coalition (TCARC)
The role of the Thurston County Animal Response Coalition is
to promote education, safety, and disaster assistance planning to animal owners
and animal / agriculture agencies.
Thurston County Search & Rescue
Thurston County Search and Rescue is an organization made up of
volunteers from the local community that dedicate their time and money to serve the community
in its time of need.
American Red Cross - Mount Rainier Chapter
The American Red Cross has developed specific disaster
readiness guidelines for individuals, families, neighborhoods, schools, and
businesses.
Crisis Clinic
The Crisis Clinic is a 24-hour help line, offering emotional
support and other appropriate resources to callers.
Thurston County Public Health and Social Services
The mission of The Thurston County Public Health and Social Services Department is to make positive,
significant and measurable difference in the environmental, physical and mental health, safety and well
being of the community.
