Mission Statement

Thurston County Search and Rescue Council is a volunteer organization founded over 25 years ago as a not for profit group. It was created to enhance Search and Rescue services for the citizens of Thurston County

• Promote a unified organization of field and base units and teams.

• Enable an interchange of knowledge, ideas, and techniques in the field of search and rescue.

• Deploy qualified and trained personnel as required by a missions needs and stated requirements.

• Promote training to assist in maintaining the highest proficiency for teams and units in search and rescue methods, techniques, and operational methodologies.

• Promote education of the public in wilderness and urban outdoor safety and recreation.

• Promote the education, deployment, and operational techniques needed for response to search and rescue operations and disaster operations.

• Promote the visibility of the teams and units to the citizens of Thurston County.

• Raise funds to support the goals and objectives of the council and member units and teams
