Everyday our health is affected by the decisions we make and
the actions we take. Sometimes these decisions have
the potential to impact others. When this is the case,
a public health issue may occur.
Dr. Diana Yu, the Health Officer for Thurston County,
regularly provides information to the community about public
health issues. Providing information to the public and
putting forth initiatives designed to promote and protect the
public's health are primary responsibilities of the Health
Officer.
Dr. Yu currently serves on the
Washington State Board of Health as a representative for
Health Officers across the state.
One way that Dr. Yu provides information about health is
through media outlets. The Olympian newspaper
supports this effort by publishing 'Dr. Yu Columns' upon
request.
