The Thurston County Public Health Department aims to provide timely and accurate registration for all births and deaths occurring in Thurston County and the issuance of certified copies of birth and death certificates.

Birth Certificates

Birth records from 1921 to the present day (Washington State Only).
For births before 1921, contact the Center for Health Statistics at 360-236-4300.
Turn around time:
- Walk-In - Same day (Dependent on staff availability)
- Mail-In requests - Next working day (via postal mail)
Cost: $20.00 per birth certificate

Death records for the current year and past two years (Thurston County Only).
For deaths previous to the 3-year block of time, or for deaths that occurred outside of Thurston County, contact the Center for Health Statistics at 360-236-4300.
