Our programs help pregnant women and women with children in
Thurston County get the support and services they need to
have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy child.
Maternal & Child Health (MCH) Public Health Nurses offer
preventative health services by utilizing the
well-respected Nurse Family Partnership Program Guidelines.
Our nurses also offer early intervention assessments and
referral for children with special health and developmental
needs or at risk for abuse or neglect.

Program serves children who have serious physical,
behavioral or emotional conditions that require health and
related services beyond those generally required by

In 2010, the Health Department received a planning grant
from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
Office on Women's
Health. The grant provided an opportunity to identify
and prioritize health issues impacting Thurston County women
and girls. A local prevention plan was developed outlining
