THURSTON THRIVES

Child and youth resilience

purpose/scope:

The Thurston Council for Children and Youth (TCCY) has worked as the team for the Child & Youth Resilience action area over the past year to develop a strategy and recommendations to improve the health of our community by ensuring that all children are raised in a healthy, safe environment.  The action teamís two-goal approach aims to reduce the incidence of Adverse Childhood Experiences and promote individual and family resilience.  These are key factors in the long-term health of our communityís future generations.  The team will present its recommendations to the Board of Health and Thurston Thrives Advisory Council on March 11, 2014.
