THURSTON THRIVES

COMMUNITY DESIGN

purpose/scope:

The Community Design Action Team is meeting during the middle part of 2013 to develop a strategy and recommendations on how best to create or re-design community environments so that they make healthy choices easier.   Examples of the ways in which our built environment shapes health include whether it provides opportunities for regular, moderate physical activity and healthy eating.  Our community’s design can also affect how much air pollution is generated and how safe we are from crime or injuries.
