THURSTON THRIVES

environment

purpose/scope:

The Environment area of Thurston Thrives drew on the expertise and participation of key people in our community for areas like air quality, water quality, waste reduction, vector and zoonotic disease prevention, and emergency preparedness to develop the strategy.  The physical environment of Thurston County - its air, water, animals and other aspects of our surroundings and the systems we live in - connects to many health conditions such as asthma, foodborne illness, and cancer.  This strategy aims to ensure that the environment of our community contributes to the health of all residents.
