How Applications are Processed

The typical process flow for applications submitted for job openings in Thurston County Government is as follows:

When an application is received, it is initially reviewed for completeness.  Incomplete applications are not sent forward.

Applications are accepted until the closing date.

After the closing date, the interviewing manager will review the applications and select those applicants to be called for an interview and/or testing.

Applicants selected for interviews and/or testing will normally be called or otherwise notified within two weeks following the closing date noted on the position announcement.

Applicants not notified during the two weeks following the closing date should assume that they were not selected to be interviewed and will not be considered further for the position.

Due to the large number of applicants for most positions, unsuccessful applicants are generally not notified.

Please see the Sheriff's Jobs Web site for application processing information for Civil Service jobs.
