Tours of the detention facility
are made available on the first Saturday and the third Wednesday of each
month to interested individuals who have signed up for them in advance.
Tours are limited to 15
individuals on a first-come, first-served basis and will not include areas in
which any juvenile detainees are currently housed.
The tours on Saturdays will be
at 10:30 a.m., and those on Wednesdays will be at 7:30 p.m. Anyone
interested in participating in such a tour may sign up for it by contacting a
regular Detention Supervisor.
The following applies to anyone
participating in a tour:
- The tour will begin promptly
at the scheduled time; anyone arriving late will have to reschedule; those
coming for a tour should be at the facility sufficiently early (10
minutes) to allow for their screening into the facility prior to the start
time.
- Anyone coming for a tour is
subject to being searched; no packs, purses, etc. will be allowed in past
the lockers.
- Any juveniles coming for a
tour must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult; the adult
need not participate in the tour, but they must come into the facility with
the juvenile and verify his or her identification.
- Anyone coming for a tour must
have picture i.d.; juvenile identification may be vouched for by a
parent/responsible adult with picture i.d.
- Only those who are on the
sign-up list will be able to participate in the tour for any given day.
- No juvenile who has
previously been incarcerated here will be allowed on a tour.
Occasionally, there may be need for
special arrangements for a tour. Please direct any request for such to
the Detention Manager.
