Friends of the Trails

By becoming a member of the Friends of the Trails Program, you will assist the Parks Department in providing a safe and enjoyable trail system connecting urban and rural Thurston County communities.

The Friends of the Trails Program provides support and assistance for the preservation, improvement, and continued development of the Thurston County Trails system.

Future improvements include:

  • Completion of the “Bridging the Gap” project, which includes the construction of a bridge over Pacific Avenue, connecting the North and South sections of the Chehalis Western trail.

  • Construction of additional trailhead facilities along existing sections of the trail system.

  • Landscape improvements throughout the trail system.

  • The addition of benches and other amenities.
