Very few communities compose their own unique set of regulations. Most adopt all or part of the 2012 International Building Code, a set of model codes established by the International Code Council. Here in Washington State, the Washington State Building Code Council has adopted the ICC codes with some state amendments; likewise, Thurston County's code adopts the Washington-State amended version, with a few local changes. Specifically, Thurston County's Title 14 adopts (with amendments) these I-Codes:
