Mission Statement

The mission of Development Services Department is to protect, promote, and assure the safety and health of the people of Thurston County and the quality of our environment.  The department provides planning, building, fire safety, and permit coordination services to the citizens.  The department is managed by the Development Services Director who serves as the County's Planning Director, Building Official and Fire Chief.
