Citizen initiated amendments that are fee based. Resource Stewardship - Long Range Planning has not dedicated any staffing resources to these amendments due to the size of the work load associated with other amendments. The costs associated with these amendments would be borne by the applicant. Amendments in joint planning areas should only be considered if they are also on the respective jurisdiction’s comprehensive plan amendment docket.

#7 Lakeside Industries - Nisqually Sub-Area Plan

Amend Policy “E.5” in the Nisqually Sub-Area Plan to permit the re-processing/recycling of used asphalt pavement as an accessory use. This activity is currently prohibited in the Nisqually Sub-Area Plan. Lakeside Industries operates an asphalt production facility on 24.98± acres at 11125 Durgin Rd. SE in the planning area.

#8 Toft - Thurston County Comprehensive Plan (Rural Area)

Amend the Thurston County Comprehensive Plan and the Thurston County Zoning Ordinance to change the land use and zoning on 1± acre of a 5± acre lot from McCallister Geologically Sensitive Area to Neighborhood Convenience Commercial.  The property is located at 8021 Yelm Hwy SE at the corner of Yelm Hwy SE and Spurgeon Creek Rd. SE.

Amend the Thurston County Comprehensive Plan Land Use Plan Map to change the land use from Rural Residential Resource One Unit per Five Acres (RRR 1/5) to Institutional. Amend the Thurston County Zoning Ordinance to add an Institutional zoning district, and amend the Official Zoning Map to change the land use and zoning from Rural Residential Resource One Unit per Five Acres to the new zoning district. The 1,004± acre campus property is generally located off Evergreen Parkway NW.

The 8.48± acre property is generally located at the intersection of Yelm Hwy SE and Henderson Blvd SE on the opposite corner from the YMCA.
