What's happening now?

Sep 14, 2017 --- The speed limit on Bald Hill Rd through the project area is back up to 50 mph. The Contractor will be returning next week (week of September 18th) to finish placing compost and seed/fertilize. Please continue to drive with caution through the workzone and watch for flaggers while the contractor is working to complete the project.

Aug 30, 2017 --- The paving, striping, rumble strips have been completed. The Contractor will be offsite until the week of September 11th when they will install the traffic signs, place compost and finish the guardrail installation. Once the guardrail is completed and the traffic signs are installed the pre project speed limit of 50 mph will be back in place.

July 27, 2017 --- The contractor is currently building the road base within the area north of Mountain Vista to Lawrence Lake Rd. This work will continue through the end of next week (August 4th). Paving of this section is scheduled August 7th-8th. Following this work the contractor will pave the final lift of asphalt for the entire length of the project August 9th-11th . After this the contractor will be striping the road, installing traffic markings/signs and placing topsoil along the shoulders. The contractor is still on schedule to complete the project by the end of August.

JUST A REMINDER The 25 MPH speed limit through the project is in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until the signs are removed at the completion of the project. TCSO deputies are monitoring the traffic in the area and ticketing violators. Traffic fines are doubled according to RCW 46.61.527 and 46.63.110

May 30th, 2017-- Grinding of the pavement will begin today, expect delays. This work will continue through the end of the week. Use of the alternate route is recommended.

May 15th, 2017--The Contractor is back onsite to resume road construction work. They will be pulverizing the pavement and grading the existing material below the road surface. The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph throughout the work until the project is completed. Please see the alternate route maps if you wish to bypass the construction work.

Jan 25th, 2017 --The relocation of utilities will by PSE and Fairpoint continue until May of 2017 at which time the contractor will return to begin major road construction, the speed limit will be 25 MPH during this time, and the anticipated completion date of this project is by September 2017

DEC 27th,2016 --As of December 23rd the Contractor has completed their clearing activities. The 25 mph speed limit signs placed by the Contractor will remain covered and the pre-project speed limit will resume until the Contractor returns for major work in the spring of 2017. PSE and Fairpoint will be onsite during this time relocating their utilities.

DEC 15th,2016 --Due to the recent weather, the Contractor is now anticipated to complete clearing activates by the end of next week. For the safety of the contractor and the travelling public the 25 mph speed limit will be in effect 24 hrs until the completion of the clearing activities.

DEC 6, 2016 -- The Contractor will continue clearing activities in the right-of-way and is scheduled to finish this work December 16th (weather permitting). To help with your commute we are going to only reduce the speed limit to 25 mph during work activites, the 25 mph signs will be covered and the initial speed limit will resume when the contractor leaves the site.

DEC 6, 2016 --The initial project clearing has begun as of December 1, to support the necessary utility relocation over the winter. The remaining roadway construction is scheduled for spring/summer of 2017. Construction activities will result in traffic delays and possible temporary utility outages; however we will work with the Contractor to try and keep them to a minimum. Please allow yourself extra time to get to work, school, or scheduled appointments, and please drive with extra caution through the construction zone.
