Transportation - Traffic Operation & Engineering

The Transportation Section designs, operates, and maintains traffic control devices on public roads in unincorporated Thurston County (except state highways).

Our areas of responsibility include:

  • Traffic signs
  • Signals and lighting
  • Traffic studies
  • Traffic data collection
  • Speed limits
  • Neighborhood traffic calming
  • Road classification
  • Transportation planning
  • Transportation engineering
  • Project development

If you wish to report a sign that is damaged or missing, please use the service request form or call 867-2300.
Please note that damage to stop signs must be reported by phone. That can be reported after hours and on weekends at:360-704-2740
