Welcome to the Thurston County Resource Stewardship Department

Welcome to the Thurston County Resource Stewardship Department website. The Resource Stewardship Department joins what is commonly known as Environmental Review/Permitting, Water Resources and Community Services. The Community Services division includes WSU Thurston County Extension, Recreation Services and the Thurston County Fair.

We work together to protect Thurston County's natural and built environment, and to engage residents in programs that inspire them to enjoy and protect our natural resources. Our department emerged from a reorganization of Thurston County government in 2009.
