Yelm Highway Phase V Plans

Public preferences determined during the December 2004 open house were used for final design to make this a safe and attractive corridor.

This is a summary of results for Streetscape Alternatives and Preferences:

 

Hardscape Textures & Colors
Paver texture was most popular.
Color choice is brick red, second choice gray/natural concrete.

Planted Median Option
Fully planted median is the most popular choice.

Noise Wall Texture & Color
Stacked stone texture is the first choice followed by brick texture.
Most popular color choice is gray/natural concrete.

Planter Strip Options
Fully planted strip with sidewalk is the first choice. Reduced planter strip with meandering hardscape edge and sidewalk is the second choice. Meandering sidewalk was the third choice.

Street Tree for Planter Strip
Popular choice is columnar tree form.
Street trees planted between sidewalk and curb is the most desired choice.
