Useful Information - Concealed Pistol License

Concealed Pistol License Applications are accepted by our office 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Mondays through Fridays excluding holidays. Concealed Pistol Licenses are valid for 5 (five) years. Processing time for both original and renewal applications is 30 days. It is recommended persons applying for a renewal license do so at least 30 days prior to expiration.

Where to Apply:

  • City residents may apply at the local law enforcement agency (police department) in the jurisdiction where they reside.
  • County residents (unincorporated) apply at the Thurston County Sheriff's Office at 2000 Lakeridge Dr. SW, Olympia.

Dates and Times CPL Applications and Renewals are Accepted:

  • Monday - Friday 9am to 4pm.
  • Closed on all normal government holidays and weekends.

Requirements:

  • Resident of Thurston County or Out-of-State resident.
  • 21 years of age or older at time of application.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • No felony convictions or prohibitive domestic violence convictions.
  • No pending trial, appeal or sentencing on a prohibitive charge.
  • No outstanding warrants for ANY charge, from ANY court.
  • No court order or injunction against possessing a firearm.

FEES: Cash, Check, Master/Visa Credit/Debit

  • All fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Payment is required at time of application.
  • Original CPL application: $52.50 or $53.50 with lamination
    (Cash, Check, Master/Visa Credit/Debit)
  • Early Renewal CPL: $32.00 or $33.00 with lamination
    (Up to 90 days prior to expiration date)
    (Cash, Check, Master/Visa Credit/Debit)
  • Late Renewal CPL: $42.00 or $43.00 with lamination
    (Up to 90 days past expiration date)
    (Cash, Check, Master/Visa Credit/Debit)
  • CPL over 90 days past expiration date will be same fee as an original.
  • Replacement for lost, stolen, or damaged CPL: $10.00 or $11.00 with lamination
